Executive Council

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

Between March 24-27 the Grand Officers of the state traveled to Detroit Michigan for our Annual Executive Council Meeting.

The meeting was very informative as we received information regarding new legislation within the organization. We were also able to see the executives from across the country.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

On this evening I made an official visit to Cedar No. 69. During the visit I gave a brief lecture on the Brazen Pillars, tokens and words for the Fellow Craft Degree.

Cedar No. 69 was also engaged in conferring the first degree on this evening.

As always I enjoyed myself during the communication.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

On this evening I made an official visit to St. Samuel No. 38 in Newark. The visit allowed me to see several members I had not seen in some time. It was wonderful to see the Senior Warden and Secretary getting around a lot better since their injuries.

It was also great to speak with Bro. Merrick Smith who truly kept me in stitches. We had a great visit.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

This Friday during our Grand Lodge Communication the trash talk began. As we prepare for our Grand Lodge Session in June, the members have ratcheted up the rhetoric involving the several Award programs and competitions within the Grand Lodge to be presented at the Awards banquet.

Each District has also thrown down the gauntlet  regarding bragging rights for the Summer Youth Basketball Tournament. In addition, Hiram No. 19 has openly challenged all the lodges and dare them to come to Paterson to try an obtain the Traveling Gavel from them. .

It appears we will have very spirited competition leading up to this year's Annual Grand Lodge Session.

The newest chartered lodge, Genesis No. 263 received their charter on this evening.

Bro. Herschel Gaston was also named the Grand Lodge Public Relations Officer.
If the competition and presentations were not enough, the Grand Lodge lecturer Bro. Hillman stole the show with his lecture entitled," Have you been condemned?" We truly had a wonderful time at our latest communication.

May way enjoy our race to the finish line.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

On March 12, I attended the Joint District Grand Convention for Freestone District No. 5, Herbert Turner District No. 6 and the A3 City Council of Newark.

During the City Council meeting the Youth Department made a presentation to the membership.

Deputy District Grand Master Bro. Anthony Gamble did a very good job of opening the District Grand Lodge as well as performing the Annual Memorial Ceremony.

District Master Eric Tennent gave a lecture entitled, "Am I My Brother's Keeper."

District Master Oliver presented Brothers Williams, Bennett and Gamble awards for their hard work in the District.

After the District Convention I traveled to Jersey City to donate blood for Absalom of David's Annual Blood Drive.

We would like to commend Absalom of David for their efforts in giving the gift of life.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

On March 5, I made my official visit to Sons of Light No. 138. It was a pleasure seeing the members of lodge. While there I fielded an extreme amount of questions regarding the Basket Ball tournament and JoBeth.

The brothers of Sons of Light are definitely on the move.
