Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
This weekend we attended the District No. 7's Annual Convention. The guest speaker for the morning's program was Bishop Jethro James. He started the convention in a positive fashion.
The convention was very smooth in execution. The District Grand Lodge was opened satisfactory and the Burial Ceremony was also done well. We also enjoyed the three lectures given during the communication.
My congratulations to District Master Morgan and the brothers of the District Grand Lodge.
After the District Convention, the Grand Matron and I stopped by the Founder's Day honoree luncheon.

On the weekend of October 13-16, 2011 the New Jersey Delegation traveled to Beachwood, OH for the 59th Annual National Conclave. New Jersey had the largest Delegation of all the states.
The New Jersey Exalted Degree Department shined above the rest. During the joint communication all four departments conducted a joint memorial ceremony. On Saturday, Joshua Grand Commandry opened the Knights Templar flawlessly.

District No. 9
Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
Today I attended the District No. 9's Annual District Convention. This is the first District Convention for the new Masonic Calendar Year. Once again the Woodrow Ayers District Grand Lodge set the tone for the year.
The opening was great, the lectures were good and Burial Ceremony was superb. The Burial Ceremony really stole the show. The District Grand Lodge almost maxed the points in every category of the competition.
My hats off to District Master Shirden and the entire brotherhood of District No. 9. They have truly set the bar for this year.

Supreme Convention
Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
The week of July 16 thru July 23 was the 61st Annual Supreme Convention held in Orlando Florida. A large delegation from New Jersey attended the convention.
Numerous delegates obtained office on the National level. Once again the Most Worshipful Job Grand Lodge came away with the Number One Grand Lodge of the Year. This success is attributed to the hard work of each and every brother. Our goal now is to not look backward, but Always Forward. Our current goal is to make it three years in a row. The other Grand Lodges will be trying harder, so we must work even harder.
In addition Job Grand Lodge performed the Masonic Memorial Ceremony for the General Assembly. At the next Grand Lodge Communication we will discuss other activities of the convention.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
On May 21, 2011 we held our Annual Fellowship BBQ. On behalf of the MW Job Grand Lodge I would like to thank each and everyone who attended the Fellowship BBQ.
This year the children enjoyed face painting, horse rides a bounce unit, etc. But, they really enjoyed beating up on the adults in softball for the second year in a row.
Most of the adults enjoyed friendly games of dominoes and spades.
In all we had a good day fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters and that is truly what it is all about.
Now let's get ready for an outstanding convention.

From there I was off to Trenton to make an official visit to Prince of Peace No. 156. I would like to remark that they informed me that they are truly the best lodge in Trenton.

This Friday during our Grand Lodge Communication the trash talk began. As we prepare for our Grand Lodge Session in June, the members have ratcheted up the rhetoric involving the several Award programs and competitions within the Grand Lodge to be presented at the Awards banquet.
Each District has also thrown down the gauntlet regarding bragging rights for the Summer Youth Basketball Tournament. In addition, Hiram No. 19 has openly challenged all the lodges and dare them to come to Paterson to try an obtain the Traveling Gavel from them. .
It appears we will have very spirited competition leading up to this year's Annual Grand Lodge Session.
The newest chartered lodge, Genesis No. 263 received their charter on this evening.
Bro. Herschel Gaston was also named the Grand Lodge Public Relations Officer.
If the competition and presentations were not enough, the Grand Lodge lecturer Bro. Hillman stole the show with his lecture entitled," Have you been condemned?" We truly had a wonderful time at our latest communication.
May way enjoy our race to the finish line.

On March 5, I made my official visit to Sons of Light No. 138. It was a pleasure seeing the members of lodge. While there I fielded an extreme amount of questions regarding the Basket Ball tournament and JoBeth.
The brothers of Sons of Light are definitely on the move.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends,
This year's Annual Education Conference may have been the best in years. We had outside presenters from various institutions as well as three brothers from the Grand Lodge. Brothers Bethea, Cox and Horell did an excellent job in their presentations.
The Educational Committee of Bro. Alshahid Hillman and Sisters Williams and Austin did a fantastic job organizing the event.
In the Masons session the following brothers gave great presentations; brothers Larry Moore, Christopher Joesph, Omar Shabazz, Hakim Williams and Mario Cassitta. Ill. Leonard Best gave a lecture and led a Burial Ceremony for the purpose of instruction.
It truly was an excellent day.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
Today was a monumental day for Job Grand Lodge. The 29th Annual Breakfast was the best ever.
According to CNN Earthquakes were reported in California but it was not due to the shifting of tectonic plates but the work of the keynote speaker. Chairman Roslyn Brock tore the entire house down and set it on its head and that is putting it mildly.
I would like to thank the Deputy GM, the District Master's Council, Finance Department, the MC Bro Love, the Marshals, Bro. Malone and Bro. Bryant for the music, Brothers Shabazz, Horton, Terry Williams, Cox, Gregory Mainor, Eric Johnson and Bro Ates.
But more especially, I would like to thank each and every brother, our families and friends who made this possible.
Team NJ all the Way!
God Bless You and God Bless the M.·.W.·. Job Grand Lodge

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
On February 10, I made my official visit to Jeremiah No. 125. Prior to the communication I had the pleasure of seeing Ill. Vernon Gilcrest who I haven't seen in some time.
Ill. Gilcrest was dressed to impress as he was on his way to church for a program celebrating their 61st Anniversary.
During the communication I also saw brothers Manning and Davis who I haven't seen in some time as well. Bro. Davis and I communicated for a while on several ideas that might make the Trestle Board.
On Jeremiah's Trestle Board tonight was the healing of a brother who Demited from PH and the conferring of the first degree on a candidate.
It was a pleasure fellowshipping with the Jeremiah as we had lots of laughs.
We congratulate Bro. Willie Randolph, WM for his efforts. Keep up the good work.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
This weekend we had our 39th Annual National District Eastern Jurisdiction Convention in Holyoke Massachusetts.
We are proud to say New Jersey had the largest delegation at the convention.
The education department put on a great show. This may very well have been the best National District Convention ever.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
Today I visited Sons of Solomon No. 220 in Trenton NJ. The meeting was very eventful as the lodge performed the burial ceremony for max points in the Lodge of the Year Contest. The brothers went all out in performing the ceremony.
Besides the ceremony, WM Cain did an outstanding job opening the lodge.
After attending my own subordinate lodge meeting I attended Clifford Alford No. 165's first Annual Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday celebration.
The affair was very elegant. Clifford Alford performed a skit on Martin Luther King Jr.
While at the celebration, I was notified that Hiram No. 19 captured the Traveling Gavel from Unity No. 195.
Although a busy day, it was a worth while day as we strengthened the fellowship around the state.

Sts. John's Day
Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
On Sunday December 12, 2010 we held our Annual Sts. John's Day celebration at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Jersey City.
Although the service was held a week earlier than normal, we appreciate the brother's support during this change.
Bro. Omar Shabazz of King David Lodge No. 80 was the Master of Ceremonies. Bro. Shabazz did a great job of moving the ceremony along.
Personally, I would like to thank DM Shirden and the host city for their hospitality, the brothers of the Grand Lodge, the District Masters, the Marshal's Department, the Junior Warden and his staff as well as the Memorial Committee for a job well done.
We would also like to thank the sisters of Bethune Grand Chapter for attending our Annual program.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
