Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

August 28, 2010

This Saturday was another busy day.

We started the day at the Grand Lodge Youth Basketball championship.

The Junior Division finals were between District No. 1 and District No. 6. District No. 1 won the championship in an entertaining game.

Next, in the Senior Division, the finals pitted the undefeated District No. 7 against District No. 3. The game had numerous lead changes. Finally, it ended in a nail bitter as it was decided by a last minute tip giving District No. 3 the victory.

From the tournament I traveled to Union County City Council's Annual BBQ. I had a great time fellowshipping with the brothers and sisters.

My final stop was Jersey City City Council. The council along with the District Master and District Matron were preparing for District No. 9's Annual Convention.

This was definitely a good Day for the State of New Jersey.

This weekend we had so many scheduled events I could not make them all.

On Friday, several brothers meet at the Grand Lodge to commence work on our floor. We worked four days straight and only have the laying of the tile left.

On Saturday evening the Grand Matron, Grand Joint Council Vice President and I attended the Paterson City Council's Honoree Dinner. It was a great affair. Paterson has really set the bar for other City Councils to follow.

This week is also the final week of the Job Grand Lodge Youth Basket Ball Tournament. We hope that you will attend the playoff games to support these kids.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

This week I made three stops around the state. On Tuesday August 17, my family and I attended the final regular season game of the Job Grand Lodge Youth Basketball Tournament. The game was between Districts No. 4 and 5. It was an entertaining game.

The following Day, Ill. Malachi E. Morgan and I visited the new lodge in District No. 3. This was the very first meeting of the newly formed lodge. The new brothers were very excited and had lots of questions. It gave Ill. Morgan and I great pleasure to have this new lodge in the District as well as in the state.

We would like to thank Bro. Donald Jones, Worshipful Master of Doric No. 6 for his assistance is being the ritual teacher and Ad Hoc WM of the lodge until it is officially chartered.

Lastly on Thursday, the family and I attended the first playoff came of the Tournament. Ironically, it happened to be between Districts No. 4 and 5. The rematch was even more dramatic with the game being decided in the final seconds.

Last night the Grand Matron and I attend the Clergy Council's meeting. It was my first time attending this meeting and it was very informative. We definitely had a good time attending this communication.

Afterward, I made an official visit at A1 and A2's City Council meeting. The meeting was very spirited especially once we opened the floor for questions. We discussed Patrons, the upcoming bowling program, JoBeth, administrative classes and District Conventions.

The members provided the Grand Lodge and JoBeth ideas for future programs. We also had lots of laughs in between the questions.

In all I had a wonderful time fellowshipping with the brothers and sisters of this fine council.

Keep up the good work.

We also unveiled the official Grand Lodge coin which was received very well by the brotherhood.

The Supreme Convention report was received and adopted into the archives of the Grand Lodge. Also on the Trestle Board was the youth basketball tournament, the fall bowling league, the business venture of Job Grand Lodge, the unveiling of the sick and shut in page on the Grand Lodge's website, etc.

The following day we traveled to Trenton NJ for the Grand Exalted Degree's quarterly meeting. The main topic of discussion were the preparations for the upcoming state Conclave in September.

Please support or Grand High Priest and Grand Eminent Commander is pre-registering and booking your hotel room in a timely manner.
