28th Annual Breakfast

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

On Sunday February 21, 2010 Job Grand Lodge held their 28 Annual Fellowship Breakfast at the Robert Treat Hotel.

At this year's Breakfast we honored Past Grand Master Ill. Clifford Alford, 33° for his leadership, dedication and support of The M.·.W.·. Job Grand Lodge for over 50 years of Square Work.

In addition, we honored former judge and State Prosecutor Clifford Minor for his commitment and selfless service to New Jersey and especially the City of Newark for over 40 years.

We would like to thank everyone who attended this special occasion. On behalf of The M.·.W.·. Job Grand Lodge, I would like to give a special thank you to our keynote speaker The Hon. Shelia Y. Oliver, Speaker of the New Jersey Assembly.

Speaker Oliver gave an inspiring speech capitalizing on the Theme of the Grand Lodge, "Brother, We Will Never Forget You," and centered around our motto of, "Team New Jersey." Speaker Oliver explained what politicians and more especially the residents of NJ needed to do in order to accomplish the goals of uplifting New Jersey. She stressed working together, the power of your vote and the U.S. Census.

We would also like to thank Assemblyman Charles Mainor for being the Master of Ceremonies. Assemblyman Mainor did a terrific job. We are unaware of his physical being as his opening joke may have cost him a limb when he returned home. We will pray for him :-).

Senator Ronald Rice and Freeholder Rufus I. Johnson presented the NDEJ Grand Master and Matron Resolutions from the New Jersey State Senate.

We would also like to thank every public official who supported this historical affair.

Mayor Wayne Smith (Irvington)
Mayor Eldridge Hawkins (Orange)

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

Feburary 20, was another busy day.
It began with a visit to the Grand King Solomon communication. The Grand Palace had an inspirational meeting.

As I attempted to depart the Grand Lodge Roosevelt James No. 241 arrived for their regularly scheduled communication. In addition Doric No. 6 also arrived to take possession of the Traveling Gavel. This caused me to sit in on the communication to see if Doric could take possession of the Gavel. Roosevelt James retained the Gavel beating Doric by 2 brothers.

We are glad to see the motivation of the brotherhood to win the Gavel. Continue to keep the spirit of fellowship alive.

The next stop was Trenton NJ for the Annual Interfraternal Masonic Relations Commission's Black History Program.

Following the program I made an official visit to Unity No. 195. The visit went well and there was a large number of brothers in attendance.
