Last night I visited a Passing done by the Carey DeLarge District No. 3 District Grand Lodge.
They were Passing the brothers from the newest lodge in Union County. At this time I would like to thank Bro. Donald Jones for his dedication as the ritual instructor for these brothers.
In addition, I would like to thank those brothers from the other lodges who lent their hands in passing these brothers.
While there I learned that these brothers have finally decided on a name for their lodge. Once they become a Master Mason lodge they will be Chartered a Genesis No. 182.
In addition, Doric Lodge No. 6 also conferred the Fellow Crafts Degree on two of their brothers.
We are very proud of their work and the work of those who assisted in making these brothers welcomed members of Job Grand Lodge.

This past Saturday will be one for the record books. It has to be the longest marathon of visitations ever.
The day began at 10 am with an official visit to Roosevelt James No. 241, then William J. Hughes No. 71, afterward Mt Hermon No. 210 followed by Clifford Alford No. 165 and Jerusalem No. 65, then Doric No. 6 and finally a visit to Salaam Temple No. 11's Shrine meeting.
During Doric's visit, Ill. Leonard Best performed the burial ceremony ggarnering the lodge 2000 points for the Lodge of the Year Award.

On Sunday April 11, a mistake in the appointment schedule took me to two Exalted Degree meetings in Newark.
First, I attended Doric No. 7's Knight Templar meeting where the Grand Commander-in-Chief is a member. We were pleasantly surprised by a visit by the Grand High Priest and Grand Eminent Commander conducting their official visits.
After Doric's meeting the Grand High Priest and I visited Ezra No. 4's Royal Arch meeting where the Grand High Priest is a member.
In both meetings I discussed the trestle board for end of the year which includes the next Grand Lodge communication, Grand Lodge BBQ and the Annual Grand Lodge Session.
In all, we had a wonderful time fellowshipping with all the Companions and Sir Knights.

On Saturday April 3, along with my subordinate lodge, visited Clifford Alford No. 165's communication in an attempt to secure the Traveling Gavel.
Doric Lodge No. 6 also attended the meeting with the same goal of obtaining the Gavel.
During the communication we received a lecture from Absalom's lodge lecturer and a power point presentation from a brother of Clifford Alford.
At the end of the communication Bro. Brown, Worshipful Master of Absalom of David was presented the Traveling Gavel.
We are very proud that the new address of the Gavel is Absalom of David.
After the communication the three lodges fellowshipped together.
Immediately following the celebration I attended the Grand Matron's Annual Ball.

On Saturday March 20, we held another Masonic Dollar Day at Sisters of Soul in Linden NJ.
Masonic Dollar Day is an example of the Grand Lodge's charitable contribution to neighborhoods throughout New Jersey.
The Masons' Executive Board chooses different small businesses to support throughout the state and the members show up in full force to support that business.
The Grand Lodge, Grand Royal Arch Chapter and the Grand Encampment also made financial donations to Sisters of Soul.
We would like to thank the members who attended the Masonic Dollar Day.
That evening the Deputy Grand Master made an official visit in my place to Absalom of David No. 36 in Jersey City.
As a member of the lodge it would have been a conflict of interest for me to inspect the work of the lodge for the lodge of the year award.
As expected Absalom did very well. All three Fellow Craft Masons gave lectures as well as the lodge lecturer Bro. LeGrand.
As usual, the communication was very spirited to say the least.
Afterward, the Deputy and I made an appearance and the Marshal Department's Annual Affair.

The Grand Lecture, Bro. Hillman also gave an inspiring lecture.
On Saturday, March 13, I made an unofficial visit to Paterson's Exalted Degree Meeting and an official visit to Hiram Lodge No. 19. We had lots of laughs during my visit as the brothers were in rare form and full of merriment and fellowship.
The visit to Hiram Lodge No. 19 may have been one of the best visits all year.
May the Supreme Architect of the Universe Bless you.

Feburary 20, was another busy day.
It began with a visit to the Grand King Solomon communication. The Grand Palace had an inspirational meeting.
As I attempted to depart the Grand Lodge Roosevelt James No. 241 arrived for their regularly scheduled communication. In addition Doric No. 6 also arrived to take possession of the Traveling Gavel. This caused me to sit in on the communication to see if Doric could take possession of the Gavel. Roosevelt James retained the Gavel beating Doric by 2 brothers.
We are glad to see the motivation of the brotherhood to win the Gavel. Continue to keep the spirit of fellowship alive.
The next stop was Trenton NJ for the Annual Interfraternal Masonic Relations Commission's Black History Program.
Following the program I made an official visit to Unity No. 195. The visit went well and there was a large number of brothers in attendance.

Saturday January 23, 2010 was another busy day.
The first stop was an official visit to John Gary No. 250. While conveying the Grand Lodge Trestle Board PM Randall Jackson presented an idea for an additional fellowship program in the state. The Grand Lodge has asked him to further investigate the proposal as the temporary chairman and report back to the Grand Lodge.
John Gary further stepped up by increasing the pressure in the Lodge of the Year contest by performing a burial ceremony on the spot for a 1000 points.
After John Gary's meeting I attended a call communication of my subordinate lodge Absalom of David where the Lodge presented a financial donation to the Red Cross for the Haitian Relief Effort.
Immediately following this communication I popped in on the Grand Joint Council's free self defense class. The class was filled with men, women and children.
After the Grand Joint Council's event an official visit was made to the John M. Hayes District No. 4 Grand District meeting. The Deputy Grand Master and District Master's Council President were also in attendance.
Following the District Communication an official visit was made to King David No. 80. King David performed an impressive opening to compete with the one done by Dora No. 11. So the competition for lodge of the year is definitely tightening.
The final visit of the day was made at the Quarterly Communication of the NJ State Marshal's Council. It is always a pleasure to attend the Marshal's Dept's communications.
It is also pleasure to report that our sponsorship with NJ4Haiti.org continues with Districts No. 3, 6 and Roosevelt James No. 241 made additional deliveries to our regional drop off point.

An official visit was made to Cedar No. 69. This visit coincided with their Annual Holiday Party which was cancelled in December. The Brothers had an abundance of food and refreshment which made the fellowship and the official visit much more pleasurable.
During the communication we spoke on the Grand Lodge's Trestle Board as well as taking numerous questions.
The Grand Lodge also received some insight on one of our efforts and a volunteer to see it through. Therefore, I would like to thank Cedar No. 69 for their warm reception and support of the Grand Lodge.

Saturday January 9, 2010
On this busy day I began at the New Jersey State Conference of the NAACP's Annual Installation Ceremony.
It brought me great pleasure and pride to witness the installation of two brothers hailing from Clifford Alford No. 165.
Brothers, Melvin Warren and Overston Cox, were installed on the Executive Committee. We are very proud of them and wish them great success!
After the installation ceremony I stopped by Absalom of David No. 36's Annual Blood Drive to donate blood. The brothers of this lodge are to be commended for giving the gift of life.
My next stop was St. James No. 37. We had a wonderful time speaking to the brothers about the Grand Lodge's Trestle Board. The highlight of the meeting was Bro. Joe Barr performing the Masonic Burial Ceremony to garner St. James a 1000 points towards the lodge of the Year Award.
It was stated by Bro. Moseley, WM that it was his goal to win this award in his final year as Worshipful Master.
My final stop of the day was the Jersey City, City Council meeting. Where Bro. David Bowens was elected City Council President.
Although it was a busy day with lots of traveling, it was well worth it to see the members of this Grand Lodge practicing the principles in which our order was founded.
