Brothers, Sisters and Friends,

During the weekend of September 17-19, I attended the NJ Exalted Degree Conclave.

The Grand Lodge would like to tip our hat to the Most Excellent Grand High Priest Aaron Burroughs and the Grand Eminent Commander SK Perry Rice.

To conclude an education filled weekend the Exalted Degree Department donated almost a 1000 hats to children with cancer.

On Sunday, September 27, the Exalted Degree including Doris Webb Grand Amaranth Court and Rahab Grand Heroines of Jericho ended their calendar year with their Annual Fellowship service at Providence Missionary Baptist Church.

The Grand Matron and I attended the service and was very delighted with the proceedings.

Keep up the good work!

Brothers, Sister and Friends:

On September 10, a large delegation from NJ, including several past Grand Masters and I traveled to Detroit, MI for the ritualistic services of Ill. George Mathews.

The SGM conducted the burial ceremony with the assistance of the brothers from Michigan.

It was a solemn occasion as we said our final good byes to a brother who served our fraternity for 50 years. May he rest in peace.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends:

On Saturday September 5, 2009

King David No. 80, Freestone No. 1, Stars of Elegance No. 225 and the Youth Department held a school supply drive. The two lodges along with the chapter and youth department gave away school supplies to neighborhood children.

At the same time they provided a BBQ for those who came by to receive these supplies.

While at the Grand Lodge I checked on the status of the work being done on our temple. I am pleased to report everything is going well.

After the above function, I visited Bro. Tyre from St. Samuel No. 38 who is in Kessler Rehab facility. Bro. Tyre is in good spirits and is recovering well.

Following Kessler, I visited a site on the South Mountain reservation to check its promise as a site for our Memorial Day BBQ.

We wish everyone a safe and joyous Labor Day Weekend. As this marks the end of our recess period, I look forward to each lodge getting back to work.

May God Bless You
